Mangum Pottery of Turkey Knob
Since 1975 Rob and Bet Mangum have been creating and producing hand crafted pottery and ceramic sculpture in the beautiful mountains of Allegany County, one of North Carolina's northwestern- most counties, near Sparta. Their studio is situated on ninety acres of rolling pasture and forested hillside. The most noteable hill is Turkey Knob itself, with it's panoramic 360 degree view. Rob and Bet's work has taken a variety of directions through the years, from solid functional stoneware, porcelain, and terra-cotta, to figurative folk art, to custom tiles for kitchens and bathrooms. Their studio is a popular destination for avid collectors wanting to visit a working studio in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. They are open for visitors from April through December. Their hours vary, so please call: (336) 372-5291.
